Video 11 – Which Oats Works Best In Weight Loss

Hello friends, today we are going to talk about oats. Oats need no introduction; they are the one of the healthiest food items, because it is a whole grain food such as wheat, corn and bajra.

We all know that whole grain food items are quite healthy. In almost all the weight loss diets, oats are extremely used because it is not only low in calories, but also has high fiber amount along with vitamins and high quality protein content. It satisfies your hunger and keeps you satiated for a long time, and so it is a complete weight loss food.

According to processing techniques, oats come in 4 types which are steel cut oats, rolled oats, instant oats and masala oats.

What is the difference between them? In simple terms, steel cut oats are the least processed and instant oats and masala oats are the most processed amongst these.

But there is not much difference in the nutrition content between steel cut oats and instant oats. But instant oats are more processed which increases its glycemic index, sugar and sodium content. High glycemic index and sugar increases your blood sugar levels and fluctuates quickly, which makes you hunger sooner.

If we talk about masala oats, to preserve its flavors and vegetables, some kinds of preservatives are added in it which increases its sugar, sodium and caloric content. So for weight loss, steel cut oats are the most effective.

You can also have instant oats but you need to check its sugar and sodium content first. Choose the brand of instant oats which has the least amount of sugar and sodium content. And use masala oats quite occasionally, just once in a week, only for taste.
