You will need: 1 cup water, ½ teaspoon turmeric powder, juice of ½ lemon and ½ teaspoon honey.

Method:

  1. Boil the water in a vessel until it forms bubbles.
  2. Take it off the stove and transfer it in a cup.
  3. Add turmeric powder and stir well.
  4. Turmeric powder may stick at the bottom so make sure that you mix it well.
  5. Add lemon juice honey and pinch of black pepper, and stir well.

When and How much – You can consume this drink in the morning on an empty stomach that is before breakfast. Drink 2 cups a day, till 7 days. After that, do not consume for 2 weeks. Then start again.

If you haven’t consumed turmeric in your daily diet then it is suggested that you start its intake with a very small amount. You can consume ¼ to ½ teaspoon of turmeric daily and then you can increase it proportionately each week. Once you are acquainted with its use, you can start taking 1-2 teaspoons for 2-3 times in a day. Do not consume turmeric tea immediately before and after taking medicines. And make sure that you do not have raw turmeric on an empty stomach. Also, consult your trusted physician before consuming any kind of turmeric supplements.

Who Should Not Eat Turmeric?

To begin with, people suffering from gallstones and liver problems should not consume turmeric at all, as stated above. Pregnant women should stay away from it too. People suffering from an acidic stomach should lessen their turmeric consumption because turmeric can cause an acid reflux in the stomach.
