Constipation makes us restless. We do not feel well during that time, and we do not feel fresh at all. Our body does not function properly internally due to constipation, which reduces our metabolism, and you can then completely forget about weight loss. You often reach weight loss plateau due to constipation.

Constipation is one of the most common problems of weight loss and it can occur frequently. It means that if you are losing weight, constipation should be cured first and foremost.

So before knowing constipation remedies, let us first know the reasons behind it.

Common Reasons Behind Weight Loss

There are a number of reasons behind the occurrence of constipation, such as regular stress, dehydration, eating low fiber food, hypothyroid, food allergies, low nutritious food or doing little physical exercise. There are other reasons too but these are the most common ones.

Now let us talk about those natural remedies which help a lot in reducing constipation. And I will be talking about only those remedies which I use myself.

Some remedies work better when done at night and some work on releasing constipation when done early in the morning on an empty stomach.

Constipation Remedies Before Sleep

The first and really effective remedy is,

Mixture of hing (asafetida) and black salt in warm water. The easiest home remedy, we all have hing and black salt in our kitchens. Mix hing and black salt in one tablespoon, put it in your mouth and drink it with hot water. And watch its effect in the morning. It may take up to 1 or 2 days usually, but I have guided some people and they witnessed the effect in just 1 day.

And if you are facing severe constipation, which is since many days, you can mix Carom Seeds and Fenugreek Seeds with it as well.

The second remedy is Chia Seeds Lemon Drink

Which is also a weight loss remedy. Chia seeds and lemon both improve your digestive system. For this, soak 1 tbsp of chia seeds for 20 mins in a glass, mix lemon water and drink it. The best time to drink this in 1 or 2 hours before going to bed.

The third remedy is coconut oil – If you are facing constipation due to hypothyroid then the best remedy for you is to drink 1 tbsp of coconut oil with 1 glass of hot water before sleeping at night. And if the constipation is severe then use 2 tbsp.

This is about the remedies which are to be followed before sleeping at night. Now let us talk about those remedies which are to be followed in the morning on an empty stomach, which show instant results and are quite simple as well.

Quick Constipation Remedies in Morning (Empty Stomach)

Squeeze some lemon juice in a glass of hot water along with some salt and drink it immediately after waking up. If you are facing severe constipation then drink 2 glasses and walk for a while, which will help in improving bowel movement and will relieve you from constipation. But you can do this task during the day as well.

So these are points concerning the remedies.

For Chronic Constipation

1. If you start facing constipation then start drinking juices regularly such as bottle gourd juice, tomato juice or carrot juice. Taking these juices regularly would not increase your constipation.

2. Apart from this, you can perform Kapalbhati. Kapalbhati keeps your digestive system healthy. If you perform kapalbhati regularly then you will not face the problem of constipation, and even if you are facing it, it will be cured in a few days.

3. You can also eat guava or papaya, which show effective results as well.

Well these are all home remedies to be followed when you face constipation. But what all to do to avoid constipation itself? For that, you need to focus on a few tips.

How to Avoid Constipation

  1. Drink 10 to 12 glasses of water in a day. If possible, drink 2-3 glasses of hot water.
  2. Eat food slowly with proper and consistent chewing.
  3. Eat high fiber food, and exercise for at least 3 days in a week. These 3 basic tips will not only help you to keep constipation at bay but will assist in weight loss as well.

Remember – You should not take more of laxative medicines. If you use them frequently then your body gets acquainted to it and as soon as you stop taking them, you face constipation.

 

Find your Reason Behind Frequent Constipation

Now these reasons also have the solutions hidden within them. So firstly find out the main reason or problem. You would not be able to figure it out at one go and you would then forget the reason within a few days. So for this, as you prepare a diet diary, make a constipation diary as well.

It sounds weird, truly, but this problem occurs frequently and so it becomes huge. And not just once or twice, this problem will keep on occurring for the rest of your life. So it would be beneficial if you can understand this problem as soon as possible.

Root – Find the root cause behind it. You will not be able to figure it out at one go. You will have to mention it in your diet diary, about which food keeps you healthy and which food gives you constipation. There are a number of food items which give us allergy but we are unaware about them, which gives you constipation or other stomach problems frequently.

Constipation is going to occur for the rest of your life, so if you study and understand your body as soon as possible, know the reasons behind constipation, the less it will trouble you, and you would be able to stay healthier.
