Hello friends, I am Seema and I have lost 28 kgs of weight in a 100% natural and healthy way. I am sharing my weight loss experience with you guys through these videos.

You can know about how metabolism helps in losing weight through these points.

We all know that hypothyroid increases obesity. The main reason for that is slowing down of metabolism, which burns fewer calories and stores more fat. So if you consume an average diet and have a slow metabolism, you can still become fat.

And if you want to lose weight, you will need to improve your metabolism. The most effect on your metabolism is exerted by your physical activity. The more physically active you are, the more boosted your metabolism will be.

But there are certain food items which help in keeping your metabolism active as well. We are going to talk about 5 such food items.

The first is, protein rich foods. Do you know that our muscles burn more calories than our fat? If you want to improve your metabolism then you need to build more muscles. So people who are trying to lose weight eat more protein and exercise more as well. It helps in increasing their muscles and also the metabolic rate. It in turn would burn more calories. Even if you would be sleeping, more calories would be burned off.

If you are trying to lose weight, 25-30% of your daily calories should be taken from protein. And you should exercise daily, if possible start weight training. It will help in increasing muscle mass and you would be able to lose weight faster.

For high protein foods, you can consume various types of lentils such as beans, seeds such as chia seeds, flax seeds, nuts such as almonds, peanuts, milk products such as curd and paneer. There are a number of protein rich food options for vegetarians as well.

I have mentioned about the top 10 vegetarian protein rich food items on another video, do check it out.

The second metabolism boosting food item is green tea. Green tea has natural caffeine and catechins components, both of these components increase our metabolism. So even if we are asleep or awake, our body burns more calories, which burns more stored fat in our body.

Along with this, these components make our central nervous system more active, which turns our fat into fuel and gives us energy. So we burn fat overall.

According to many experts, drinking 750 ml or 3 cups of green tea in a day shows the most effect.

The 3rd metabolism boosting food item is coconut oil. You must have heard that eat fat to burn fat. Here we are talking about the good type of fat. Good fat means, the one which converts into energy rapidly in our body similar to carbs, and does not get stored in the body as fat.

Coconut oil boosts the hormones in our thyroid glands, which increases your metabolism.

You should take 1 to 2 tbsp of coconut oil every day. The easiest way is to mix one tbsp of coconut oil in one glass of water and consume it before sleeping it an night. You can also cook with it.

It is difficult to find edible coconut oil in grocery stores in North India. You can buy it online or in stores which deal in South Indian products.

The 4th metabolism boosting food item is chili. Chili contains capsaicin content and many studies have proved that capsaicin component burns more calories.

Apart from this, our body contains 2 kinds of fat cells, one is white cells which store fat and the other is brown cells which burn white cells and secretes energy from it. Now this capsaicin component converts white cells into brown cells and thus we burn more fat. Isn’t it amazing slimming food?

The 5th is, drink more water. Drinking water increases our metabolism. According to a study, as soon as we drink water, our basal metabolic rate gets increased up to one hour.

Also, dehydration decreases our metabolism by 5%. And drinking water regularly does not make you dehydrated and your metabolism keeps on running.

According to experts, you should drink 2 to 3 liters of water every day. And instead of drinking more water at one go, drink little by little more times. It will keep your metabolism active.

Well there are various other food items other than these which keep your metabolism active. So keep your diet balanced by including vegetables, fruits, lentils, grains, dairy products, which will also keep your metabolism active.
