How many calories should you consume daily for weight loss?

So let us talk about calories. We all know that the food we eat gives us energy and we measure it through calories.

The number of calories required by our body daily depends on a number of factors such as your age, gender, weight, metabolism, how active you stay etc.

But if we take a rough idea then a healthy adult requires around 2500 calories daily and a healthy female requires around 2000 calories daily. It means that we need to intake at least this amount.

This is about a healthy and normal person. But if you are overweight, weight loss has just one Science Based formula.

You need to intake fewer amount of calories than your body’s requirement, through which your body will burn fat and consume the energy to compensate for the remaining calories. It means that your fat will act as an energy source and you can thus lose weight.

Now the point comes to this. How many calories do we need to reduce? So, reduce 500 calories daily from the total amount of calories which you consume daily. For instance, if you are consuming 2000 calories daily then reduce it to 1500 calories.

And if you do not see this to be effective within a few days then reduce the count even further, but do not reduce more than 1200 calories. I have personally followed a 1200 calorie diet for a few months, and it was effective for me.

But I have personally taken care of this point; the amount of calories you consume should be nutritious. It means that if you are eating less food; keep it healthy and nutritious in order to lose weight in a healthy manner. Do not consume junk food, otherwise this will make you unwell.

Note an interesting point here. If you are reducing 500 calories daily then you are reducing 3500 calories in a week. And according to Mayoclinic, you can reduce 1 pound or 0.5 kg of weight by reducing 3500 calories.

This is just an idea, it depends from body to body.

So for a healthy and safe weight loss, reduce 500 calories from your diet, and keep it balanced and nutritious.
