3 Best Seeds for Weight Loss – Small Super foods

In this video we are going to talk about, 3 such seeds which are really helpful in losing weight but are not given importance by most of the people.

Hello friends, I am Seema and I have lost 28 kgs of weight in a 100% natural and healthy way. I am sharing my weight loss experience with you guys through these videos.

We Indians use a variety of seeds in our cooking and recipes, such as cumin seeds or jeera, ajwain or carom seeds, dana methi or fenugreek seeds, saunf or fennel seeds, dhaniya seeds or coriander seeds, and all these help us a lot in weight loss.

But there are a number of seeds which are not known by us or are ignored by most of us who know about them. But a number of experts call them super foods or perfect weight loss foods. The reason is them being highly nutritious.

But here we will talk only about their weight loss benefits.

The first among them is flax seeds or alsi. Flax seeds or Alsi have both soluble and insoluble fibers. Soluble fiber slows down our digestion which does not make us hungry quite often, and insoluble fiber improves our digestion.

Apart from this, it is an excellent vegetarian source of Omega 3 which increases our metabolism. It also controls your blood sugar, which also helps diabetic patients to use it for weight loss.

Just take one thing in account while using it. Consume it only in a powder form, because our body is unable to absorb it in its whole form.

Mixing flaxseeds powder with low fat curd and cumin powder helps in reduction of your belly fat and decreases waist size. But you can use this powder in your soup, salad, juice, in any food you like.

According to me, 2 tbsp or 14 grams of flaxseeds powder taken in one day benefits both your health and weight loss, and is enough.

The second weight loss seed is chia seeds, which are getting rapidly popular nowadays, and they truly deserve the popularity for weight loss. And these work similar to flax seeds.

Chia seeds are always eaten after being soaked in water, which turns them into a gel form and it slows down our digestion. Along with this, 2 tbps of chia seeds have around 10 grams of fiber which completes 40% of our daily fiber need or intake. It thus keeps our digestive system healthy and does not allow constipation to occur.

It also has high content of both, protein and Omega 3, which keeps us full for a longer time and reduces our overall caloric intake.

The best way to eat it is – lemon chia seeds drink. It is simple to prepare it. Mix 1 tbsp of chia seeds in 1 glass of water and keep it aside. Mix some lemon juice after 20 mins and drink it.

You can also mix them in your oats or sabzi and consume it.

The third weight loss drink is pumpkin seeds – It is a good weight loss snack. It contains both protein and fiber in high amounts, and as we talked earlier, it keeps us full for a longer time. So we can use it as a snack.

Apart from this, Pumpkin Seeds contains anti- inflammatory properties, which reduces the inflammation in our bodies and which is extremely necessary for weight loss.

It is not needed to mix them with something and eat. You can eat them raw, they taste really good. And the most amazing thing is that you can carry them anywhere like nuts, and so it forms an amazing weight loss snack.


Now we know how these seeds are really effective in our weight loss. But remember to not consume more than 10-15 grams of these seeds in a day. And it should not be that you are consuming 2 tbsp of each seeds in a day. Seeds also have certain limitations. So eat flax seeds for a few days, pumpkin seeds for the other and chia seeds thereafter.

Use each type of seeds one by one. And as I always say, we cannot lose weight with just one food or drink. We need to follow a proper diet and regular exercise; only then these seeds would show their benefits.
